JAIPUR: Even as protests by the Jat community continued across the state, especially in Bharatpur, over the film ‘Panipat’ several theatres stopped screening of Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical on Monday.
Jat groups are protesting over the film’s portrayal of Bharatpur’s Maharaja Surajmal.

Following the administration’s direction, the film’s release in some theaters in the city has been stopped.

The screenings will resume only after further orders, they said.

As per the order of the administration, all the shows of the film have been canceled.

Once a protest had to cancel the show at 12 noon

No untoward incident happened due to police presence,” Raj Mandir manager Ashok Tanwar said.

“As per instructions of authorities, we have suspended the screening of the movie at our multiplex in Jaipur. The show will remain suspended till further notice,” said an Inox official in a statement.

The movie, based on the third battle of Panipat, courted controversy over the “wrong” and “distorted” portrayal of Jat leader and Maharaja of Bharatpur Surajmal.
