Akshay Kumar Lands In Twitter Trouble; Clarifies After ‘Accidently’ Liking Video Mocking Jamia Crackdown
Akshay Kumar without making any comment or tweet for or against the authorities has landed himself in a soup.
Akshay in no time noticed the buzz around it a addressed it on Twitter. He wrote, “Regarding the ‘like’ on the tweet of Jamia Milia students, it was by mistake. I was scrolling and accidentally it must have been pressed and when I realised I immediately unliked it as In no way do I support such acts.”
Jamia Millia Islamia, the prestigious Central University, became the epicentre of Delhi Police’s brutal crackdown against Citizenship Act protesters on Sunday. While situation remains calm-yet-tense in this posh south Delhi locality, the police action has triggered massive protests by students across India. From Kolkata’s Jadavpur University to Hyderabad’s Maulana Azad National Urdu University, students have begun their agitation against the authorities
According to reports, protesters had torched four public buses and two police vehicles as they clashed with the police in New Friends Colony, near JMI, leaving nearly 60 people including students, cops and fire fighters injured. A Jamia students’ body, however, claimed they had nothing to do with the arson.
